Project Summary : The Black Oak Mine Unified School District (BOMUSD) has as the centerpiece of its SS/HS project long-term strategies, based on the Community Action Framework, which will impact the school district's infrastructure. The SS/HS initiative will create a model rural community, demonstrating how youth development can be used to create a network of supports and opportunities so that all children will be able to connect to their school and community and unfold their unique talents and interests. The initiative is implementing adventure learning as a major component for students at high risk
