Steven Shuman
Mr. Shuman is a technical assistance specialist on the Project LAUNCH Technical Assistance Team. He also consults nationally on a number of issues related to early childhood health, safety, and development. Mr. Shuman’s 35 year career in early childhood education and public health has included training and technical assistance to Head Start/Early Head Start, child care, and family development programs. He is the co-author of Growing Up Healthy and a number of articles on health education, injury prevention and health promotion for young children. He directed the Massachusetts Healthy Child Care project and was instrumental in the regional work that lead to the conference and publication: Relationships, Resiliency, and Readiness: Building a System of Early Care and Education Mental Health Services. Mr. Shuman’s leadership has been recognized with the Abigail Eliot Distinguished Leadership Award, the David Giveans Award, and the first Steve Shuman Support of Men In Early Education and Care Award.
