Yanique M. Edmond, Ph.D., is a Public Health Advisor in the Center for Mental Health Services (CMHS) at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Prior to coming to SAMHSA to work on Project LAUNCH, Dr. Edmond served as Review Administrator for the Office of Financial Management (OFAM) at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), where she was involved in a variety of initiatives with the Maternal and Child Health Bureau, the HIV/AIDS Bureau, and the Office of Rural Health Policy. These projects included the First Time Motherhood/New Parents Initiative, the R40 Combating Autism Initiative, the Enhancing Access to Quality HIV Care for Women of Color Program, and the Tele-Health Network Program. Earlier in her career, Dr. Edmond was a Program Manager for the Juvenile Justice Resource Center and an Education and Management Head Start Training Coordinator for twelve years. In addition, Dr. Edmond has a longstanding interest in evaluation. Her evaluation work has focused on the areas of family support, maternal depression, parenting practices and parenting stress among rural families in Haiti, as well as among Latin American and Caribbean immigrant families in the United States. She received a doctoral degree in Family Studies from the University of Maryland, School of Public Health, in 2007.
